Every promotion I've had came from the same habit: understanding the layer below well enough to run the layer above. NOC engineer, NOC manager, senior manager of technical operations, director, VP, CTO.
All of it for US companies. All of it from Mexico. Fifteen years of remote, cross-border technology leadership before most companies had a policy for it.
Today that means technology ownership company-wide: infrastructure, developer operations, corporate IT and security. I led a SOC 2 certification end to end and direct a team across Mexico, the US and South America.
